En route to Double Island




We stayed inside the commercial channel by keeping the red buoys to port. But the buoy pictured above, had been moved from its original location by flood currents or a knock by a barge. It was so near to shore that it was obvious we should keep it to starboard. It’s not always obvious when buoys are out of place but usually, after a discussion, we agree which side to take them on. So far we have been right. The TVA and U.S Coast Guard do a stellar job looking after navigational needs on the Tennessee River.
